கலை என்ற பெயரில், சதைகளை கண்களுக்கு பந்தி வைத்து, காமம்
கிளறும் உங்கள் கூட்டம், பணம் என்ற அங்கீகாரத்திற்கு மேலை நாடுகளில்
அலைய வில்லையா ?

Dear Mr. Obama

Congratulations!

So far, in my life time you are one of the greatest orator that i have seen at least in media. I have been greatly influenced and inspired by your speeches.

I am deeply happy to realise 'White House' has opened the doors for you. No race, religion, caste, poor, rich, and any sort of living beings can be suppressed forever. Life is a see-saw, whatever goes up has to come down and vice versa.

People expect you to be a magician, turn things upside down at one fine morning. I don't believe majic, for that matter whatever i can't understand, i don't believe.

But i know you will try to change what you believe in, with all the cold constraints around you.
I am learning and have at least similar thinking like you at least one sentence or a word you utter in every speech.

Though media was not very impressed with your speech as a president, as there was mammoth expectation on you, I am impressed, particularly with this - 'Neither power, nor money can win anything in life. It is ones' ideals, must not be any compromise in it'. (rephrased for people & their lives, on what you said about America)

I am confident that through constructive engagements, you will make a lot of positive steps and redefine history, afterall history is meant to be rewritten by greatest leaders.

I am one of the million people wish to see you succeed with your ideals.

Interpretation

I have left the subject as blank intentionally. One of my good friend asked me to take out my scribbling in this space.

I can write what I think is correct, same for others. They can intrepret in whatever ways they want, whoever they are.

Though i dont agree that someone will misintrepret my thoughts, i respect his well wish.

எத்துனை அழகு இந்த வாழ்க்கை! வித்தியாசமான மனிதர்கள்!

மெல்லிய திரைசீலை விலக்கி, விரிந்திருக்கும் பரந்த உலகம் பார்க்க எத்துனை பயம்!

அனைத்தும் என்னை கடந்து செல்லும்! காதல், பாசம், பயம், காமம், வெற்றி, தோல்வி, துக்கம், நிஜம், பொய், காற்று, காயம், மழை, மௌனம் எல்லாம் கடந்து செல்லும்!

எதற்காக நானாகிய நான் மட்டும், நிகழ்வுகளில் ஏன் சமய வேண்டும்?

Project Management is flying a kite.

Project Management is nothing but flying a kite.

Anybody can fly a kite but not all the kites are flying high in the sky.
The key differenciation is - when to let go and when to pull !
It is an art, not a science, which requires, passion, experience and wisdom.

Every event in our life, marriage, house, children, death need to be handled with project management practices. we do the initiation, planning, monitoring and control, etc., unknowingly.

Keys for Project Management
The keys are PPP; People, Politics and Problem management.
-Don't play politics, rather manage it, as others will play with you anyways.

-Don't give up INTEGRITY for anything, thats a very rare quality, as everybody is cannibals.
Respect, trust are earned, not to be enforced. If you can't manage your boss and your peers, dont force the blame on the people & show your power on the people reporting to you. what you give is - what you get! it will come back to you within your life time. Law of Karma!

- Problem management is different than problem solving; nobody can solve every problems but its possible to manage most of the problems.

Perfection in Project Management
Perfection in everypiece of work and life cannot be achieved, whatever people do, there is always a room for improvement. Expected perfection is subjective with the situation and people looking at it, rather than actual measurement of perfection, as there is no metrics for perfection.

Boss and Project Management
Dont just go along with your boss! in particular if he/she is not a person of integrity.
Rating, promotions and money are important, but most important is satisfaction of doing good.
Dont live with the people you can't trust, thats the hell in this universe, try to change him/her; if not, make a conscious decision to switch at the right time, instead of keep blabbering at it, which 95% of the people do.

Quality for Project Management / still being a human!
Your ATTITUDE is everything. - networking, team work, learning, negotiation, etc., etc., and other funda words in the corporate world.

Are you a dung cleaner?

I have been asked to clean dung more than 2 times in 2008;
You may have the same experience in the corporate world.
Below is my 2 cents worth.

If you are asked to clean a dung,
dont do it with your barehands;
ask for a shovel.

If the shovel is not in proper condition,
ask to get it changed.

If they cant change the shovel,
just let them know you wont clean all the dung;
some will be still there;

It is not matter of big or small dung;
what matters is - it stinks.

Don't carry the dung with you to home;
its not worth to carry around and get your life stinking!

10 is greater than 90 !!

Have delivered this speech in a Toast Masters' speech contest (inter division) in 2008. Got runner up in the contest. The inspiration for this speech came from 3 people - Robert Kiyosaki, Donald Trump and Steve Job. Have learned a lot from their life's ups and downs and how they overcome. wanted to share this with the rest.

International Speech Contest

10 > 90

Do you know 10 is greater than 90!
I never failed in mathematics in my schools and in fact, I got 100 out of 100 most of the time. Well, the equation works like this.

10% of the world population controls, 90% of the entire wealth. They are called rich and super rich.
Rest, which is 90% of the population, shares the left over that is 10%.
That’s why this is a very very tight quadrant; the poor and middle class fight a lot to survive in this space.

What could make us to move to rich and super rich quadrant?

Fall but forward, fall forward
I think I was in primary 6. We got a sports day in our school. I gave my name for 1500m run. I didn’t have any clue about the track events, the practices, strategy, etc., etc., But I was very adamant to win. On the day of the race, I got up at 4am in the morning and I was kept running in the ground relentlessly for hours and hours. 10am the race starts, I was on the lead through out till the finish line but I stumbled just before the finish line and fell. I fell on the side, if I would have fallen forward, I would have gained ground and won the race. This was a very valuable lesson in my life.

Next, Stay Hungry! Stay Foolish!
Have an eternal hunger to win and Be foolish to believe what you love, no matter what.
There is a hungry and foolish guy in America, his biological mother gave him for adoption on the 1st day of his birth itself. He was a college drop out. Everyday he used to walk 7 miles to Hara Krishna temple to get one meal a day.
He started his business at car garage, and grew it to 2 billion $ company with 4 thousand employees. This sounds jut like another rag to riches story. His name is Steve Jobs, Apple Computers. Here is the twist. He was fired by the board of the company that he owned! Weird huh!

He was a jobless but he was a phoenix. He started PIXAR which produced incredibles, toy story, finding nemo kinda movies. It was a great success, then Apple say they can’t live without Steve. He got his Apple Back.
He was hungry to win back and at the same time he loves what he does and he believed that.

Next, Be adamant, learn & unlearn.
Being adamant is part of being a winner. That’s what Donald Trump says. You might have seen him in the TV reality show The Apprentice, he loves to fire people at the show. Building skyscrapers, tallest buildings is his business. I am also like him. I do build together with my son but only at Changi beach with sands.

His father Fred Trump was in real estate business. He believed that people need soda drink, acidities due to lot of junk foods. So he started a company called 3 UP. He produced the wonderful soda drink and came to the market jut to learn that is a flop. He renamed it to 4UP and started to sell, failed again. He still believes people need soda and there is no such product in the market. He started 5UP, guess what failed again, then 6UP, disaster. He still believes that people need soda drink and market do not have a good soda product. But he didn’t the energy, so he QUIT.

Someone was watching him. He believes on Fred Trump’s belief. So he started a company called 7UP and it was a huge success. He sold the soda drink as soft drink with preservatives, sugar, etc., People wanted to drink soda but with the soft drink components.

Don’t quit soon, Be adamant in what you believe, don’t try to do the same thing and expect a different result, which will not work out.

Fall forward, stay hungry, be adamant, love what you do. That’s the mantra to be an member in the 10% quadrant.
