1. Books
are slowly dying. Culture of cultivating knowledge thru’ reading books will
peter out over the period of time. Libraries will become just a monument.
Leaders and intellectuals were genteel by books for better.
Computers eradicate this tradition which exists thousands of years. Though
people claim it has electronic books, how many computers are used to read
books?, especially youngsters tend to play game or chat rather reading.
Is computers a curse or boon?
2. Opponent
team can say world has shrunk because of computers. Yes, it has shrunk
but it distances me from by neighbor, my community, my friends, my relatives,
fellow human beings. I am so busy with my computer. I email, chat, with
the person sitting next to me. Talking is slowly going off, more than
that face to face interaction, which has human touch, which bonds people are
plummeting. Evolution of civilization was thru’ communication and bonding
between humans, not between machines. Is computers a curse or boon?
3. Cosmic
information can be accessed anytime anywhere. It is so good, just one click to
know – how to suicide, how to make bombs, how to shoot, how to beat, how to
cheat, how to steal, to see, learn and try things, at an inapt age. It is
so good that it produces many underage mothers and inappropriate relationships.
It is so good that it made us slave in an invisible manner today, technically
in future. Is computers a curse or boon?
4. I
am not against computers, technical advancement is unavoidable as human race
progresses. But any technology, innovations, inventions harm the race even a
small percentage, eventually become a evil, which can wipe out the existence of
entire living beings. History has the evidence, from guns to bombs to
nuclear arsenal, world is always under peril. People were living more as humans
before the computers on earth. What does computers bring and enhance my value
as human? Life is not mere materialistic comfort, it is about human values,
respecting each other, living life to the fullest. I do not want movie
Terminator to be a reality. Computers are CURSE.
